For over 100 years, Baudouin has designed and manufactured the highest quality diesel engines for marine and power generation applications globally
Baudouin 204kW Diesel Engine
The Baudouin 6M16G220/5 is characterised by its heavy-duty industrial framing, utilising a vertical inline six-cylinder block with an extensive 126mm x 130mm large-bore piston stroke layout. Operating on a 17:1 compression ratio optimised for forced-induction air density, the structural mono-block casting distributes high cyclic loading evenly to avoid localised stress fatigue. The top architecture integrates cross-flow cylinder head geometry and a highly reliable 12-valve configuration to secure rapid, unobstructed air exchange while protecting the valve train from extreme thermal spikes during intense load conditions.
Industrial Power Architecture & Reliability
This 9.7-litre block leverages robust maritime engineering metallurgy to counter severe inductive load variances from industrial machinery or large commercial HVAC infrastructure. By combining forced turbocharging with an integrated air-to-air aftercooling matrix, the incoming charge remains dense and cool, significantly dropping combustion chamber stress and eliminating the head-warping challenges that impact smaller, over-boosted configurations. This clean, accessible layout dramatically simplifies component access for field technicians, minimising ongoing upkeep complexity.
Baudouin 204kWm Engine Technical Features
High-Volume Lubrication Flow: Employs an expansive wet-sump system holding up to 22 Litres of oil (30 Litres total capacity), achieving an intense oil flow rate of 118 L/min to keep internal bearings thoroughly cooled.
Heavy-Duty 24V Electrical Grid: Features a specialised 24Vdc architecture equipped with an ultra-powerful 8.5 kW starter motor and a 55 Amp charging alternator for flawless automation transfers.
Massive Tropicalised Cooling Loop: Incorporates an integrated mechanical radiator and an 11 kW belt-driven pusher fan designed to circulate 415 cubic meters of air per minute, sustaining performance up to 50°C ambient heat.
Rigid Cold-Weather Starting: Thermodynamically refined to execute unassisted mechanical start-ups down to minus 10°C, extending cleanly down to minus 30°C using specialised jacket water heating configurations.
SAE 1 Flywheel Architecture: Utilises a standard SAE 1 housing with a large 14-inch flywheel layout, providing high rotational inertia to stabilise power spikes during severe breaker connection steps.
